Diana Silva

Diana Silva - Portugal -

“ Diana Silva builds objects while, in a reflective way, she builds a narrative of life. The construction of itself involves the transformation of matter and the objects that result. Necklaces that are knitted veins, the latex dress that is worn as a second skin, reliquaries that contain small objects, the slate rings to use at the funeral, all these objects are a kind of transformation of subjectivity into matter. In doing so, the author works the emotions and transformations of the self, transforms events into memory and prepares for confrontation with death. By reading the texts Diana Silva writes about her pieces, one gets the feeling that this passage is about the subject that allows her to reorder, unceasingly, its subjectivity. ”
